Our Mission
Mobile Automation & AI was created to provide clear, practical resources for mobile test automation — and to explore how AI is changing the way we build, maintain and scale automation frameworks.
The goal is simple: help QA engineers, SDETs and developers build reliable, modern automation frameworks for Android and iOS — and stay ahead as AI reshapes the field.
What You’ll Find Here
Every article on this site is written to be practical and honest — whether you're setting up your first mobile automation environment or evaluating the best tools for your team.
Topics covered include:
- Mobile automation tools — in-depth guides on Appium, Maestro, and emerging tools as the ecosystem evolves. No single-tool bias — the best tool depends on your context, and we'll help you figure that out
- Framework design and best practices — architecture, patterns and real-world approaches for building test suites that scale
- AI in mobile testing — how AI is changing the way we write, maintain and optimize mobile tests. From AI-assisted test generation to flakiness prediction and self-healing frameworks
- Cloud testing platforms — honest, practical evaluations of platforms like BrowserStack, TestMu AI, SauceLabs and others. What they can actually do, where they fall short, and how AI is expanding what's possible with them
- CI/CD and automation workflows — integrating mobile testing into real delivery pipelines
Who This Site Is For
Whether you're a manual tester making your first steps into automation, an SDET looking to level up your framework design, or a QA manager trying to build a mobile testing strategy — there's something here for you.
- QA Engineers and manual testers transitioning to automation
- Test Automation Engineers and SDETs
- Mobile developers who want to understand testing
- QA managers building or scaling mobile test teams
About the Author
Hi, I'm Mayvin Ramasawmy — a software engineer based in Montreal with 18 years of experience in development and test automation, across startups and enterprise environments.
I created this site because the mobile automation landscape is changing fast — and most resources haven't kept up. Between new tools emerging, AI reshaping how we think about test generation and maintenance, and cloud platforms evolving rapidly, it's hard to know what's actually worth your time and what's just marketing noise.
My goal here is simple: cut through that noise. I write about what I've actually used, what works, what doesn't, and what I think is genuinely worth paying attention to — whether that's a deep dive into Appium, an honest look at what BrowserStack can and can't do, or an exploration of how AI is starting to change the way we build and maintain mobile test suites.
Honest, practical knowledge from someone who has been in the trenches long enough to know the difference between what sounds good in a blog post and what actually holds up in a real project.
